My neighbor has a burro and I love her. When I walk by, I frequently talk to her. Usually, she just stares back at me with those sweet, sad burro eyes, but sometimes she talks to me. I want to take her home with me. I wonder if she’d be missed.
When they came looking for her, I could just ask like I don’t have the foggiest idea what they are talking about.
“I’ve had this sweet girl for years. We’re pals!”
If I had a burro of my own, I’d take her for walks around the neighborhood. When we met up with people they’d ask about her.
“Where did you get that lovely burro?”
“Funny you should ask! It’s an interesting story.”
And then I’d regale them with tales of our adventures together. She would be a conversation starter. You know, kind of like having a baby with you at the park or the grocery store. People always want to talk to a person with a baby. A burro would be even better.
